☀️ Good News (Neurodivergent Edition) — May 2026

Less doomscrolling. More good brain stuff. Here’s what made us smile this month.

🎙️ Carl Mullan gets his ADHD answer

Irish radio presenter Carl Mullan opened up about being diagnosed with ADHD as an adult — and described finally getting that answer as “validating.”

He'd started questioning things after becoming a dad for the second time and noticing just how stressed and overwhelmed he was feeling.

Another adult looking back at their life and going...

Ohhhhh. That explains A LOT.

Welcome to the club, Carl. 🌶️

🎬 Jack Reynor talks ADHD + relationships

Actor Jack Reynor spoke openly about his ADHD diagnosis and how understanding his brain has actually helped his relationship with his wife.

Instead of certain behaviours simply becoming “Why do you DO that?!”, there's now context behind them.

And honestly, that's one of the underrated wins of diagnosis.

It doesn't change who you are.

It gives you the instruction manual nobody included in the box.

🧠 Autism research just got seriously interesting

Scientists at Yale found that hundreds of different genes associated with autism may actually affect the brain through shared biological pathways.

Translation for those of us whose brains left the science lesson halfway through:

Lots of different roads may be leading to some of the same places in the brain.

We're still learning just how complex autism is — and research is getting much better at looking beyond one simple explanation.

💼 An autism employment programme wins BIG

Law firm Stephenson Harwood's Employ Autism programme won a Legal 500 award for its disability/neurodiversity initiative.

And this isn't just corporate “we changed our LinkedIn logo for a week” inclusion.

The programme offers paid internships to autistic young adults, with several participants going on to secure permanent jobs.

Actual opportunities. Actual jobs. Actual inclusion.

More of THAT please. 👏

🌶️ MAY'S VERDICT

Adult diagnoses being talked about openly. Relationships getting better through understanding. Fascinating brain research. Neurodivergent inclusion actually creating jobs.

May, you did alright.

See you in June for another dose of good brain news.

Because normal is overrated.
